Victoria Joy Stevens · 1 month agoDid he ask them to, or did he require them to? If he asked, in a very professional way, letting the students know that he chose then for aesthetic similarity, no other reason, and let them decide if they wanted to be in that role, yes, it was okay. It was not demeaning, it was an attempt at historical reenactment. However, if and only if he let the students decide if they were okay with what he had chosen to have them do, and the fact they would be depicting enslaved people.
